2011 National Night Out

Vicki Gamache did another outstanding job in organizing this year’s National Night Out for Green Park residents on August 2nd.  Vicki never lets us down.  She thinks of everything — even music generously provided by “DJ” Charlie Hager!  Thanks, Charlie.  Thanks also goes to Marty Beirman for grilling the hot dogs in 100 degrees plus temperatures.

Of course, National Night Out isn’t complete without the visits of our Mehlville Fire District and St. Louis County Police.  Personnel from Mehlville Fire District included the C Crew from the Mehlville 5 House, Deputy Chief Tom Dempsey, Captain Charles Forsyth, Captain Mike Emms, Pvt. Keith Chatfield, Pvt. Tina Mecey, Pvt. Tom Viviano, and Pvt. John Grass.  St. Louis County Police officers included Lt. Colonel Kenneth Cox, Captain Mike Dierkes, Sgt. Ray Absolon, Sgt. Kevin Stevener, P.O. Kristina Fosdick, P.O. Chad Mueller, P.O. John Becker, P.O. Corey Simons, P.O. Scott Scarborough (K9), and, of course, our resident officer P.O. Matt Kappler.  Thanks to all these fine men and women!

Thanks also goes to Bryan Barcom of American Eagle Waste for donating the trash bin and to Mobil for donating all the ice.

Hopefully next year it won’t be so hot!

April 28, 2010 “Senior Bingo”

Our “Spring Senior Bingo” was another packed house!  Our attendees enjoyed a wonderful lunch consisting of Pasta House salad and Church’s fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans.  Of course, we couldn’t forget dessert:  cookies, brownies and sugar free apple pie.

We would like to thank the following sponsors for their donations:  Thomas P. O’Driscoll, P.C.; Suntrup Automotive Group, Gapsch’s Carstar Collision Center, Pasta House, QuikTrip, Sign-A-Rama, Dalo Auto Glass Tinting & Accessories, Church’s Chicken, Packaging Concepts, Pooch Parlor, Sterling Company, Cunningham Vogel & Rost, Hair Tailor’s, Mobil, C&R Mechanical Company, and the St. Louis County Police.  These sponsors made our Spring Senior Bingo a successful event through their generous donations in providing a delicious luncheon and some great prizes (i.e., Bartolino’s gift certificates, Walgreens gift certificates, Oil change & car wash certificates, free haircut, golf umbrella, lawn chairs, golf balls, doggie grooming, etc.).  We could not do this without our sponsors.

Thanks also to Alderman Mark Hayden and Sue Konopka for all their help.

January 13, 2010 Senior Bingo

This was the City of Green Park’s third “Senior Bingo”  and it was a packed house!  Our Senior Bingo has proven to be quite the attraction for our senior residents.  Participation has increased with each event.  This event carried a “Valentine” theme and there were some great prizes.  Thanks to Alderman Carol Hamilton for all her great shopping skills in obtaining prizes.

A very special thanks goes to ST. LOUIS HONDA and Shan Herwig for providing a wonderful lunch for our attendees.  St. Louis Honda recently chose the City of Green Park to expand their business and the City certainly welcomes them.

Our next Senior Bingo will be held in the spring . . .check the next newsletter for the date!

If your business would like to donate prizes or provide lunch for the next Senior Bingo, please contact City Hall at (314) 894-7336.  Our residents will appreciate it!

Children’s Holiday Party 2007

Everyone had a wonderful time at the 2007 Children’s Holiday Party.  Along with Santa there were approximately 30 children in attendance accompanied by their parents and grandparents.  Everyone enjoyed cookies and punch.  For the craft project the children decorated ornaments to hang for Santa’s pending visit.  Santa visited with everyone after pictures were taken and then had to leave for the North Pole.
